Dan Nadler founded Alium Capital Partners to put his knowledge and experience acquired from private equity, consulting, financial due diligence and accounting to use to create value for smaller lower middle market companies.
Since 2012, Dan has worked in private equity for the family office of Mid Oaks Investments LLC. While at Mid Oaks, Dan has evaluated numerous direct private equity deals for investment. From initial deal screening through due diligence and close, Dan worked as part of a small team executing deals on behalf of the Family. Dan spent considerable time working closely with portfolio companies and their management teams helping to create value.
Prior to joining Mid Oaks, Dan spent seven years working at Silverman Consulting, a Turnaround and Management Consulting Firm. At Silverman, Dan provided consulting services for over 25 companies ranging in size from $5 million to $2 billion in Revenue and across numerous industries. Engagements consisted of turnaround consulting, profitability improvement, sell side and buy side advisory, refinancings and lender advisory. Dan also advised management, owners, boards of directors, and lenders on general business matters including strategic business plans, working capital management, general accounting and controls and created financial management and reporting tools.
Dan regularly performed detailed short and long-term financial projections and plans for companies. He spent considerable time performing profitability studies and determining which customers and products were most and least profitable to the companies, strategizing the shift to more profitable business and methods of making current business more profitable and assisting the companies with executing these plans. Dan also fulfilled the role of interim CFO and Controller on multiple engagements, and interviewed, hired and trained positions throughout the organization including President, COO, CFO, Controller and accounting staff. He also helped implement numerous changes to IT systems including general ledger, financial reporting, inventory management and sales reporting systems. Dan frequently led negotiations on behalf of clients for lending agreements, refinancings, organized labor contracts and vendor agreements. Shortly before his departure, Dan was unanimously elected Partner, at the time one of the youngest partners in the firm’s then 33 year history.
Dan worked at AlixPartners LLC in their Financial Advisory Services group where he performed consulting services developing and reviewing various financial and valuation models and strategizing in the context of litigation consulting and valuations.
Dan also worked for Crowe Horwath LLP accounting firm where he provided financial due diligence on over 20 engagements for private equity sponsors, lenders, and corporations towards their acquisitions and financings of target companies across numerous industries.
Dan began his career in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he performed financial audits and special projects for several high profile clients including Kraft Foods, DeVry University, Astellas Pharma US and MacLean Fogg Company.
Dan graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and is a Certified Public Accountant.
